Montemor-o-Velho: Where It All Began

Montemor-o-Velho is home. It’s where everything started back in 2012, and this year Portugal proudly hosted the Junior and Under 23 Canoe Sprint World Championships for the third time.

It was the perfect opportunity to present the SuperJuice project to the ICF and to showcase the many innovations Memosoft has been developing over the years.

As with any major innovation, early collaboration was essential. The ICF Sprint Committee and the Competition Committee were involved from the start to align on key principles and the overall approach behind SuperJuice. The vision was clear: no more paper.

During the championships, the full product was officially launched, tested, and successfully implemented. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive — athletes, officials, and organizers welcomed this step forward, embracing a new era of digitalization and modernization in our sport.

SuperJuice remains a work in progress, and we are committed to further developing it with all stakeholders, aiming for even greater impact in the years to come.

Looking ahead, Montemor-o-Velho will once again take center stage in 2026 as the host of the Senior and Paracanoe Sprint European Championships — and we will be there, proud to continue shaping the future of canoe sprint.
